Competition T&Cs


To enter the “Trump Trump” Competition (the Competition) you must:

  • be over 18 and a New Zealand resident;
  • be a natural person (i.e. not a business or other entity);
  • register through the Competition Entry Form.

The Competition will run in three parts across 3 weeks from 21 October 2016 until 11.59pm on 10 November 2016, and is open to both Powershop customers and non-customers. The maximum number of entries per person per week is one. However if you share this Competition via Facebook using the Facebook ‘share’ functionality on the thank you page, you will receive one additional entry in the draw. Plus, if you share this Competition via Twitter using the Twitter ‘share’ functionality on the thank you page, you will receive one additional entry in the draw.


There are up to 17 prizes available to be won by any qualifying entry each week. Only one prize may be won per person, per weekly prize draw. Anyone who enters the Competition is automatically in the draw to win one of the following prizes, which cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.

Week 1 prizes:

*This free power prize is only available to existing residential Powershop NZ customers and new residential customers who switch their main home to Powershop (switch must be completed before 1 December 2016). The credits will be applied to your main Powershop account on 1 December 2016, 1 January, 1 February, 1 March, 1 April, and 1 May 2017. If you switch away from Powershop before the credits have been applied to your account, then you will not receive any un-credited amounts, and any unused credit will not be refunded or redeemed for cash.

Competition Entry

There are two ways to enter:

  1. Enter by adapting and submitting a Trump quote on the Competition Entry Page and completing the competition Entry Form. Once you have entered your details and accepted the Competition Terms and Conditions, simply click ‘Enter’ and you’ll be in the weekly draw to win. All entrants who ‘share’ the Competition via Facebook will receive one extra entry in the draw, and all entrants who ‘share’ the Competition via Twitter will receive one extra entry in the draw.

    Submitted quotes must not:
    • Contain any material which is obscene, hateful or inflammatory;
    • Contain any sexually explicit material;
    • Promote or incite violence;
    • Promote or incite discrimination (including, that which is based on race; sex, religion, disability or sexual orientation);
    • Promote any illegal activity;
    • Be threatening, abusive or invade another’s privacy;
    • Advocate, promote or assist any unlawful act;
    • norInclude any advertising or be made for any commercial purpose.
  2. Enter by taking a photo of an Adshel or street poster displaying Powershop’s “Trump Trump” campaign content and posting it to either your Facebook, Twitter or Instagram using the campaign hashtag displayed on the Adshel or poster. Hashtagged social content may be displayed on the campaign gallery page.

All quotes and photos submitted by competition entrants will be moderated by Powershop before being uploaded to the campaign gallery page. Please note that all quotes must be in English (so that we can effectively moderate the quotes).

Powershop reserves the right to disqualify and withdraw any entry which it deems, in its sole opinion, to be fraudulent, spam, or to have been submitted in breach of the Competition Terms and Conditions.

Prize Draws

Powershop will draw winners at random on the first business day following the close date of each weekly prize draw (Draw dates: week one - 28 October 2016; week two - 4 November 2016; week three - 11 November 2016). Winners will be contacted by email, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram on the same day and will have their first name and town/city published on the Competition website and on social media. If you are a prize winner, your prize will be delivered to the address you supplied in your Competition Entry Form or the address you supply us via Facebook, Twitter or Instagram when we message you, unless you are a winner of the free power credits in which case Powershop will credit your main Powershop NZ account as outlined above (see the ‘Prizes’ section for more information).

Liability and Fine Print

Powershop does not support, endorse or promote 2016 United States Presidential Election Candidate, Donald Trump, nor his presidential campaign.

Powershop reserves the right to use winners’ names and submitted quotes for promotional and/or publicity purposes without payment or further compensation.

Powershop may choose to contact entrants with marketing and promotional material by phone or email.

Powershop is not responsible for any claim, loss, damage, expense or charge sustained or in any way incurred by such entrant in connection with the prizes or any person's participation in the Competition, or the use of the prize.

This Competition is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by or in association with Facebook, Twitter or any other entity. You release Facebook, Twitter and any other entity from any liability or responsibility associated with sharing this competition.

Powershop reserves the right to extend, amend or cease running this Competition at any time by notice on its Facebook page and Powershop has a Privacy Policy which applies to this Competition and explains how we use any data obtained from entrants, and can be viewed at:

Employees and Directors of Powershop New Zealand Limited, Special Group Limited, Wayin Inc., McCready Bale Media Limited and Sputnik Limited (and their immediate family members, and cohabitants) are not eligible to be entered into this Competition.


Powershop may use cookies from time to time. A cookie is a small piece of information stored on your computer. Cookies help us improve your user-experience when you use our applications. The technology we use mostly uses ‘session’ cookies. Session cookies expire after 30 minutes of no activity on the application. However some cookies we use for internet statistics last longer. Internet statistics

Powershop may use standard Google Analytic and other analytic tools through Wayin Inc. to collect visitor statistics such as the number of visitors on our Competition application per day, which pages they visit, their computer’s internet protocol address and operating systems, times of the visit, browser type and language, and referring website addresses. We use this information to analyse trends, better configure our service and messages, track the performance of referring websites, administer our website and track users’ movements around our website.
