A. General terms & conditions (“T&Cs”)
Promoter
1. The Competition is promoted by Pets at Home Limited (company registered number 01822577) Epsom Avenue, Stanley Green Trading Estate, Handforth, Cheshire, SK9 3RN (the “Promoter”).
Acceptance of these terms
2. The following T&Cs apply to your participation in the Pets Magazine My Pet Pals Competition (the “Competition”).
3. By entering the Competition you will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions.
Start date and closing date
4.The Start Date for entering into the Competition is the 1st December 2025.
5.The Closing Date for entering the Competition is the 20th January 2026.
6. Entries received before the Start Date or after the Closing Date will not be part of the Competition.
How to enter
7. To enter the Competition please complete the entry form, a link for which will be in the winter issue of Pets Magazine.
8. On the form you must read and follow the specific requirements to submit a photo of you and your pet (the “Entry” “Entries”).
9. Entries to the Competition are free and no purchase is necessary.
10. The Promoter will not accept responsibility if contact details provided are incomplete or inaccurate.
Entry restrictions
11. To enter this Competition you must:
a. be a UK resident;
b. be at least 18 years old at the time of Entry; and
c. not be a colleague of the Promoter, including but not limited to those colleagues of Pets at Home Ltd, The Pets at Home Foundation and the Pets at Home Vet Group, (the “Pets at Home Group”).
12. Entries are limited to one single Entry per person. Duplicate Entries will be invalid and a person submitting more than one Entry per person will be disqualified.
13. Entries made via a third party (including by use of an automated service) will not be valid.
14. Entries must be complete and legible. Entries must be your original work and not copied.
15. As Entries may be displayed in marketing material, which will be in the public domain, you must ensure that only suitable material is uploaded and all information or materials, which you do not want it to be shown or displayed in public are removed.
16. Entries must not contain any material which is defamatory of any person, or is obscene, offensive, discriminatory, illegal, hateful or inflammatory; be threatening, abusive or invade another’s privacy, or cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety; or be likely to harass, upset, embarrass alarm or annoy any other person.
17. By entering into the Competition, you confirm that you meet the eligibility criteria as set out in these T&Cs.
18. The Promoter reserve the right to reject Entries, which it considers contravenes these T&Cs or for any other reason at its absolute discretion.
Winner selection
19. The promoter will select five (5) winners at random (the “Winners”), out of all valid Entries submitted before the relevant Closing Date.
20. The Winners will be notified via their provided email address, on the 23rd February 2026 (the “Winners Notification”).
Prize
21. The Winners will have their photo displayed in the Pet Club Magazine (the “Prize”)
Data protection
22. Any personal information received by the Promoter in the course of the Competition will be used in accordance with our privacy policy (https://www.petsathome.com/privacy-policy).
23. The Promoter will use personal information received as part of the Competition may be held and used to administer the Competition and for displaying the submitted Entry.
General
24.The Promoter will not be responsible for entries which are lost or not received, or which cannot be sent due to technical or service issues or any other reason. Proof of submitting an Entry will not be accepted as proof or receipt by the Promoter.
25. No responsibility can be accepted by the Promoter for any Entries not received for whatever reason.
26. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse any Entry for any reason at its absolute discretion.
27. The Promoter reserves the right to vary the T&Cs at any time, or to withdraw or modify the Competition altogether if circumstances require.
28. The Promoter reserves the right to use each Winners’ photo and/or details for promotional purposes. By entering the Competition, the Winners agree to participate in publicity as reasonably requested surrounding the Competition.
29. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for:
(a) death or personal injury caused by negligence;
(b) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
(c) any other matter which cannot be limited or excluded by law.
30. Subject to clause 20, the Promoter will not be liable for any.
(a) loss that is not caused by the Promoter or that was caused by any event or circumstance beyond the Promoter’s reasonable control;
(b) indirect, special or consequential losses; or
(c) indirect or direct loss of profits or revenue, loss of anticipated savings, loss of or damage to data or loss of goodwill.
31. Except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, the Promoter will not be responsible for any costs, damage, liability, loss or injury resulting from your Entry into the Competition.
32. The Prize is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged, there will be no alternative or substitute and there is no cash alternative.
33. The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into.
Jurisdiction
34. The Competition will be governed by English law and you accept the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
35. In the event of any dispute the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.
B. Photo Use T&Cs:
By entering the Competition and submitting your Entry, you are confirming the following:
1. I am sending you my photograph, which I am happy for the Promoter (and its advertising, promotion and other agencies) to use in its advertising, marketing, publicity or promotional materials. I therefore grant you an irrevocable worldwide licence to the use my photo for these purposes.
2. I am aged 18 or over.
3. I am the owner of the photograph in the Entry and am able to grant this licence to use it.
4. I am giving permission on behalf of myself and my family, friends and others who are seen in the photograph and I confirm that they agree to this licence.
5. Where anyone in the photograph is under the age of 18, I am the parent or legal guardian of that person and as such I have the right to agree to their image being used in accordance with these terms and conditions.
6. This permission covers all forms of use including without limit television, print, online (including without limit websites owned by Pets at Home Family, YouTube etc.), newspapers, magazines, digital and social media and all other forms of media now and in the future anywhere in the world.
7. I have not given permissions to any other user to use the photograph.
8. The Promoter will have the exclusive right to use the photograph.
9. The licence is irrevocable and the period of usage is unlimited.
10. The Promoter can adapt and alter the photograph.
11. Use of the photograph will not infringe any rights (such as intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality or data protection) belonging to others.
12. The photograph is original and is not a copy of anyone else’s work.
13. I agree that this licence is royalty-free.
14. I can confirm that no animals have been ill-treated in the making of this photograph.
15. I hereby agree to defend, indemnify and hold the Promoter harmless from and against any and all losses, and all claims by third parties, resulting from my breach of any of these terms and conditions.
16. The details I have submitted on the Entry are true and correct.
17. If requested by the Promoter, I will sign (and arrange for the others in the photograph to sign) any documents to confirm the above.
18. The Promoter may assign or sub-license the rights given by me to others.
